What’s up people!
So you know how pastors give a word for the year? They say things like 2017 will be the year of destiny or something like that. Well I feel like my word for 2017 is ADJUST. There is so much going on in my world right now all at one time that I can’t do anything but adjust to all the changes.
What made the word adjust come to mind is the things happening in my life this year. I’m learning to be single again. My living situation has change so I’ve had to make changes at home. Soon my youngest will be graduating high school and I will have two young adult sons. On top of that I will be turning 40 this year. So there are a lot things that’s happening that I have to learn to accept and get comfortable with..basically I have to adjust.
So what does that mean? To say oh just adjust to the major things going on in your life seems easier than it sounds. It means changing how you think and not making the changes into something negative. For example, when I was in a relationship I didn’t like going places unless we were together. I knew that I wasn’t about to sit around in the house so I had to make it up in my mind that I could go out and have a good time alone. I’m also talking this as an opportunity to start doing things that I want to do. Instead of seeing this as a sad situation, I accepted what it is and found ways to make it work for me.
The definition for adjust is
alter or move (something) slightly in order to achieve the desired fit, appearance, or result. (Google)
That’s where I am right now. I am adjusting; moving and altering my mindset in order to achieve a desired result (peace, happiness, and joy) during the changes that is happening around me.
When life throws things in your life that maybe unexpected or inevitable learn to adjust. It doesn’t have to take you down or out. Adjust is a verb so thats means take action.
Peace and Love
